And now, part two of our wedding day recap!

What M(ike) remembers
It was great, they had a little room set aside for the wedding party to hang out and brought us appetizers while we waited for the grand entrance. How thoughtful of them! And they kept bringing tray after tray of appetizers, it was great. I was starving! I didn’t want to eat too much though, because I was nervous about our first dance.

Pretty soon it was time for the grand entrance, and it was really fun. The DJ played Sexxlaws by Beck which is a really fun upbeat tune, and called people in one at a time. We finally made our grand entrance, and pretty much went right into our first dance.

What M(ike) remembers
On the day of our wedding (tee hee!) I remember waking up a little bit before the wakeup call we had scheduled. I stayed in bed figuring I would need the rest. Once the wakeup call came at 7am, I hopped out of bed and took a shower. After taking a shower, I consulted the checklist I made that many people have heard rumors about. Here is a screenshot of the full checklist. Each column is for a different vendor or person in the wedding party and it indicates which of the items are applicable to them. In the words of Moose, “NERD!”

And as one person put it, “He has it to the minute!” Here is a zoomed-in view of part of it.

… I visited M(ike) at JPL, we went to a BBQ at a JPLer’s house, and M(ike) told me he loved me for the first time (it was a busy day, huh?).

The first thing I remember from that day is boarding the 267 to go to work. I remember that because I bought a day pass thinking I’d be riding the bus a lot that day and ended up getting rides from friends.

This got used exactly once. Blarg!

…M(ike) and I got to see each other for the first time as a couple (that’s right folks… We did not see each other the day we got together!). I remember that our plan was to meet at the 267 bus stop at Allen and Del Mar and then walk to M(ike)’s apartment to hang out and watch a movie. Not wanting my parents to know that I was going to be spending the entire day alone with a boy, I told them that we were planning to meet up and enjoy a day of riding the bus. (Totally believable, right?) Shortly after boarding the 267 I, being the prankster that I am, sent M(ike) a text message telling him that I had missed the bus and would be an hour late. Had I known that M(ike) would try to catch the 267 going in the other direction (i.e., toward my parents’ house) so that he could see me sooner, I probably wouldn’t have sent the message. Fortunately, it was a holiday (Memorial Day) so all the buses were running on their Sunday schedule giving me plenty of time to reach M(ike)’s bus stop before he could board a bus to find me.

… M(ike) and I were talking on the phone. Sometime after midnight he asked me, “Do you want to be my girlfriend?” to which I replied, “Yes I do!”
